Landscaping services

Our landscape design service

Design is where a garden is either won or lost. The questions are practical ones: where does the sun sit at the time of day you actually use the garden, how do you get from the back door to the shed without walking across the lawn in winter, what do you do with a change in level, and how much of the space do you want to be looking after every weekend. We work the layout out with you against the levels and the access the site actually has, then price the build in parts so you can see what each element costs and stage it if you would rather not do everything at once.

What is included

What you get with landscape design

Everything below is part of the quoted price rather than an extra added on afterwards.

  • A site visit to take levels, orientation and access
  • A layout that works with the existing levels rather than against them
  • Material choices for paving, edging, fencing and lawn
  • Routes and steps between the different areas of the garden
  • Drainage worked into the plan from the start
  • A build price broken down by element so it can be staged

Our process

How it works

  1. 01

Tell us what you want to change

Call, message or send the form. Photos of the garden as it stands now are the fastest way for us to understand the job.

  2. 02

    We visit and take levels

We look at levels, drainage, access and what is already there, then talk through what is realistic in the space and the budget.

  3. 03

    You get a written quote

Each part of the work is priced separately, so you can see what the paving costs against the turf, the fencing or the walls.

  4. 04

    We book a start date

We agree a date, confirm access for machinery and skips, and let you know how long the garden will be out of use.

  5. 05

    We finish and clear up

Waste goes, the site is swept, and we hand over anything you need to know about looking after new turf or planting.

Why choose us

Why choose us for landscape design

  • A family-run team, so you deal with the people doing the work rather than a call centre.
  • The groundwork goes in before the surface, which is what decides how long the job lasts.
  • Driveways, paving, walls, fencing and turf are all in-house, so the levels and finishes line up.
  • A written price with the materials named, so you can compare it properly.

What affects the price

No two jobs price the same. These are the things that move it most:

  • The size and complexity of the garden
  • How much the levels change across the plot
  • Whether the design is for a full build or one area
  • How many options you want working up before deciding

Areas we cover

We take on landscape design across Mansfield, Nottingham, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Alfreton, Heanor, Ilkeston, Shirebrook and Clay Cross.

FAQs

Landscape Design FAQs

Do I have to have the whole garden done at once?

No. We price the build in parts so it can be staged over time. It is worth doing the groundworks and drainage for the whole garden in the first stage though, because going back to it later means lifting what has already been built.

Can you work with a sloping garden?

Yes. A slope usually means terracing with retaining walls and steps between the levels, which is more work than a flat plot but generally gives a more interesting garden.

Do you do the planting as well?

Our work covers the hard landscaping, turf and artificial grass, fencing and walls. Tell us what you have in mind for planting and we will make sure the beds, levels and edges are set up to suit it.
